BUCK the film

I just watched BUCK with the Horse Digests gang and am completely in awe.  You all know I’m a horse lover, but even if you aren’t the least bit horse crazy you’ll still love this documentary.  I’m normally in NYC where BUCK is currently playing but I’m actually in the Midwest visiting my family right now and getting my horse fix.  Lucky me, I got to watch BUCK with my family. :)

Buck Brannaman is the type of guy you want to know.  Someone who has wisdom and kindness – a chosen kindness.  Brannaman grew up in an extremely abusive home and found his way as a late teen learning to treat horses with respect and understanding.  Something he wasn’t given as a child.  He says your horse is a mirror of your soul and an extension of your body.  Amazing stuff.

The film itself was pretty stunning as well; gorgeous cinematography and a story well told.  A beautiful mixture of drama and humor, as well as delightful touching moments.  I am instantly a fan of Buck and totally inspired by him and first-time director, Cindy Meehl.  I’ll tip my cowboy hat AND my actor/artist hat to her.

Do take a moment to watch the trailer!
