Color Crayons

When I was little I used to draw what I might call ‘European’ rather than ‘conservative American’ stick figures.  Meaning, my stick-people had “chest buttons” or more frankly, boobs – haha ;)  Apparently I was very aware as a child.

There’s something about a bundle of colors that gets me excited – always has, since I was a little thing. Be it crayons, oil pastels, colored pencils or paint – I just want to play!

Sometimes I’d take a big red crayon and scribble as hard as I could over something I didn’t like. (Can you imagine what it would be like to walk around life with a big red crayon? Look out!)  I cherished my greens. Bright greens, deep greens, mixed greens – there’s so much life and energy in green!  Purple was for royalty, pink for pretties (it was often used alongside mint green and for a while they were inseparable – hello 80′s influence.) Brown was for tree trunks, yellow – the sun, and black was used to draw Bandit, (my first ‘dog-love’) a black and white English Springer Spaniel. I swore I was going to marry that dog – or at the very least take him to prom.

Coloring books were fun as a kid and I never would have dared coloring outside the lines, but today I just might.

Color your world – it’s a blank canvas. You can make it anything you want it to be!

What’s your favorite color?
