Conflict Kitchen
Next time I’m passing through Pittsburgh (not like that’s an often occurrence, but even so…) I’m going to stop at this place: the Conflict Kitchen.
By their definition the “Conflict Kitchen is a take-out restaurant that only serves cuisine from countries that the United States is in conflict with.
…Through food, wrappers, programming, and daily interactions with customers, Conflict Kitchen creates an ongoing platform for first-person discussion of international culture and politics. In addition, the project introduces a rotating venue for culinary and cultural diversity in Pittsburgh, as future iterations will focus on Afghanistan, North Korea, and Venezuela.”
They also have a schedule of unique cultural events to choose from. I think this is a great thing they’ve got going. What do you think? Take a look at their site and let me know
The sandwich looks yummy. Fresh basil is always a big selling point for me.
