In Case You Didn’t Know, I’m a “Farm Kid”
I got married on the farm.
I thought it was a good idea to climb the fence in my wedding dress for photos in the back pasture.
(Before the ceremony.)
My momma about had a con·nip·tion.
{a fit of rage, hysteria, or alarm}
Of course, it was her dress.
Hubster followed (although he was only “very soon to be hubster” at the time).
My Daddy didn’t mind so much.
He’s a bona fide “farm boy”.
We do things like ride horses together.
My horse, Valero, was jealous of the hubster.
But then he forgave me, and said he’ll always be mine.

loved the pictures and the story; beautiful dress, beautiful horse, beautiful hubster
Love this. It brings back wonderful memories of that day. The rain…, the umbrellas…, the baby foxes…, the horses hanging over the fence watching the ceremony…, the birds singing wildly after the rain…, the sun streaming through the trees after the rain…, a beautiful bride and groom…, perfect!
Only a true farm girl would climb the fence in her wedding dress
To this day I can’t believe how much fun that day was – and I am just so glad we have the photos to look back on!!
xoxo
Yes, only a true farm girl or one without a “worst case scenario” chip. Could you image what we would’ve done had I snagged it or got it dirty? Oh my!
Loved everything about that day!
I loved your pictures, I live in Summerfield, Fl and raise thoroughbed race hoses. If I ever get married again, I for sure want to get married on my farm and have a big reception also on my farm, It is also my favorite place!

Looking at the pictures brings back great memories.
I just had to close my horse rescue down because of health reasons. I placed all my “rescue” horses in forever homes-so I feel better.
Your horse reminds me of my Morgan, Cheyene-always the #1 male in my life.
I hope to eventually get into a house with enough property to bring my horses to my own yard instead of boarding them.
Farm living is still the best.
Best of luck to you!
Yes, we love living on the family farm here in Virginia. I even (well almost) enjoyed spending the morning pulling the honeysuckle vines out of the boxwoods this morning. Ahh, the joys of country living!
The farm is nothing but life as i know it. the sunsets the breeze the cattle grazing to the horses playing, nothing could be better and if it is it is life with the father above which is my next zipcode
I love all of your comments. Next zipcode, honeysuckle vines, sunsets, rescue horses and perhaps another farm wedding! Yes, country living is the best. May you all be well and your horses too. I just watched BUCK the film and am in awe. Thank you for sharing!
wow, I just loved the photo of you two kissing (in the right frame), while the horse is looking in the opposite direction. Gorgeous, beautiful
Thanks Helena! It’s one of my favorites too
Yes my ranch is my favorite place too
Good stories
Long life to the lovers
God bless you

” Life is too short to ride bad horses “
Hi,
My name is Michelle. I’m a small town girl in FL. I grew up loving and riding horses. I live in New Smyrna Beach, FL now, which is just a slightly larger small town than I grew up in. We have 2 1/2 acres and 2 horses so my dream farm is in my dreams at the moment. But oddly enough I know it’s going to come into fruition.
Loved your blog,
Michelle
I think you’re very blessed to have the parents you have, horses in your life, and the strength and confidence to do whatever you want to!!!!!
Hi, Makie!! I LOVE your creativity! And I’m so glad you’re sharing it!! You’re right! There is NOTHING like living on a “Farm”, no matter what size. AND, of course, with horses is the best!! I am blessed to have 8 acres and horses. I sing on my dancing TRICK horses, which I train myself.(I’m “Soprano On A Dancing Trick Horse!”)Keep sharing and enjoying all of God’s wonderful blessings!!……Dorothy
My farm is my favorite place too! So beautiful. I love just spending time with my horse and the peacefulness. Beautiful photos! I love your blog! Check out mine?

I live in New Jersey but still wanted to get married out in nature. Had to settle for a park by the Raritan River. Before the wedding we looked around for the proper “clump of trees.”
Anyway, your wedding looks just gorgeous and perhaps the little tiny bit of farm girl in this Jersey girl appreciates that!
I love my horses and the barn… ahh, just a place for me to relax, and enjoy how lucky I am. =)
My favorite photo would be when Valero forgave you what a beautiful photo, you and your hubby are very lucky to have such a very beautiful place to enjoy life, i have a small horse ranch and enjoy my horses every chance i get there is no greater joy in life if you ask me what a gift from god enjoy yours….
Thanks, I can’t claim it as my own but it’s mine to visit as it’s my parent’s farm where I grew up! I was back the last few weeks and had a blast riding Valero. (And that’s my favorite pic too!)
